I went to watch the sunset this afternoon (3:30pm!). I wrapped up nice and warm and walked a little further out onto the sand than I usually would. I was the only lunatic out there in the freezing cold but I felt like I was in a movie. My iPod played a track that just made the scene feel really quite sad really. (If you have your speaker on you may well be listening to it now too.)
I stood there for ages, just me, the music on my iPod, and the slow motion action of those distant windmills. The picture isn’t very good, I took it on my phone and it was having a terrible time trying to focus as I was pointing the thing right into the sun as it took up its hiding place below the horizon.
As I strolled slowly back to the parking lot the sky quickly darkened and I watched planes flicker there way across the sky, hurrying home, or some place far from here. I’ll be joining them myself in just over a week.

interesting mix of nature and “unnatural” sounding music.

The musician said about the track “I saw a vododer in the studio and thought, wow it’d be cool to play with that. Four minutes later this track was recorded!”
Usually I can’t stand the use of vododers, but on this occasion I think this is really used in a beautiful way.

Those are amazing colors, for a bad picture, I can’t imagine how amazing it must of really looked. My sunsets are usually at the edge of a highway as I fight traffic to get home. One day I’ll be free from this miserable job and enjoy walks on the beach and maybe one day, it’ll be with a little rugrat.

On Friday Venus is expected to be brighter than bright. See if you can catch it.

It actually begins to set around 3:30 ish. It’s just after that time now and the sun is very low. According to the net the sun will set here today at 3:52 in London, so a little later for me, but not far off that.
Let me tell you the winter really gets to me. But the summer, those are great. It never really gets all the way dark, and the daylight is around in the long summer days till almost 11pm! I love summer let me tell you! :-)
