Ugly pictures from the car on the road near Boston Logon airport

I’m back in the UK after what feels like months in America. Ironically enough this last trip stateside was one of my briefest, but taking in two very distinct locations (Mississippi and Boston) made it feel like longer.

The picture above was the last photograph I took in America this time. It’s a strange picture, a seemingly random road picture, not one that I would ordinarily admire. I was trying to quickly catch a picture of the downtown Boston skyline in the six o’clock evening sun as Anne and Michael drove me to the airport. I obviously missed the shot, but I don’t suppose it would have been a great picture had I even managed to get it.

It’s a holiday in the UK today. Mayday, though I don’t really know what Mayday celebrates? But who cares, it means that most people can stay off work and enjoy a day doing whatever they like. I’m happy because it means that all is quiet downstairs in the salon (I live above a hairdressing salon). I’m not in the mood for hairdryer noise, perm smell and the whiff of cigarettes smoked by staff in the back room between appointments.
